You think you can eat your way though?

The early days of Noah Cardiel Holt
Nov 14 2009
Noah’s day care was closed on Wednesday for Veteran’s Day, so he spent the day with Nana Urban, who not only babysat all day, but also invited us and Noah’s Uncle Tim over for dinner. Amazing. Noah finished dinner pretty quick and ran around while the rest of us ate. Opa telling stories. Success! Time to go home and go to sleep.

I got a new camera. Really it’s just an upgrade from the camera I usually use, but I’m psyched on it so this post features some experimentation with said new camera. Be warned. So.. our story begins with it now being really dark when I walk over to get Noah. This darkness thing seemed to happen pretty quick. Our friend Cal called and wanted to see if we (Noah and I) wanted to get coffee with him and Magalie (his daughter). She’s really cute, my new flash really caught he off guard. I thought maybe we should go to this bar by us, maybe people (myself included) who are drinking tolerate babies better? “You can sit and chill right Noah? I’ll even feed you full of puffs, just don’t tell Mom.” ZIIIPPPP!!! “Thanks for the puffs Dad, and don’t worry I’ll definitely rat you out.” See what you have to look forward to Cal?

Noah, your mom thinks she has long, pointy fingers. The better to make shadow puppets with I bet.

Today, Nov. 10, Miles turns 1. He made his debut on this blog when he was only two days old. On Sunday we went over to his grandmother’s apartment for a party. Miles and his grandmother. Miles’ dad, Tim, Chris, and Orion getting the music going. This new little guy is 4 months old and already knows that my camera is annoying. “I like your plaid shirt.” “No I like your plaid shirt.” “Nice croc.” Tim cooking up some wings. His way of thanking the dads for showing up. Chris and Orion. Chris (that blurry thing on the left) cracks Noah up. Cake time! Nasir (is a male Arabic given name that means helper) offering to eat Miles’ cake for him. “Go ahead Miles, dive in. Make a mess!!” “Yeah Miles (chewing, chewing, occasional breathing) eat up!!” Miles just wasn’t into the cake. Amazing. It goes hand in hand with a first birthday party that you have to hose the cake off the baby after. Not today. Miles is a rare breed, he was even helping to clean up. We took his hint to start getting ourselves together and head home. Thanks for having us!
