A week ago today Noah skipped day care and I skipped work(ing in my office) so that we could spend the morning with Aunt Mindy before she flew back to NC. Even the best of plans can hit a snag though, and Noah needed a little time out before we could grab some breakfast.
Real nice to have the park all to ourselves.
Can’t blame the boy for thinking about trying to pick up this stick. The “tough guy” Holt gene must be like the twin gene, it skips a generation.
But for a tough guy, Noah sure does scare easy.
Mindy was literally being reminded that she had to head back home.
…so we made our way back to the apartment when what do we see?
A firetruck and a friendly firefighter who offered to let Noah climb all over the truck (notice I volunteered to take off the Red Sox hat).
Thanks for coming to visit Mindy, and thanks for all the help taking care of him. A week later and he is still asking about you. Hope to see you soon.

One of those days where everyone needed a nap, and Noah was up a little earlier than Aunt Mindy so I let him wake her up.

The morning sun shone hot on the twisty slide…
…when the hero of our story polished said slide with his freshly laundered clothes.
Street fair!
Street meat for me (from Blue Ribbon).
Aunt Mindy’s street meat.
Street fries to share.
Stick.

So Aunt Mindy’s mystery gift?
A big bucket of musical instruments.
First I want to apologize to the people that live below us. Second I have to apologize to Kate, who has to live with Me, Noah, and the new jam band we’ve created.

Noah took a long nap after a morning of being at the Brooklyn Flea which changed plans we made with Savannah (from day care) and her parents. Luckily we are the flexible parenting types and we made due with an afternoon in Andy, Aransas, and Savannah’s amazing backyard.
Savannah always walks right up to my camera.
When Savannah was smaller, her grandfather made a couple casts of her hand. This was the first one.
Apples.
In the end, I’m glad Noah slept late. Thanks to Andy, Aransas, Savannah, and Andy’s parent (who were in town but not pictured) for inviting us over. Sorry Noah tried to steal the stroller. Sorry I was so relaxed that I didn’t notice he was trying to steal it.
