Noah got a box

I got Noah (me) a little something last week.

Noah’s first skateboard.

This skateboard has a cork top so he can sit on it, lay on it..  whatever on it and not tear up his clothes or himself (Thanks for the tip Neil).  Regular skateboards have griptape on the top which is basically sandpaper (do I really need to explain that to people?).

Should be fun.  We’ll see if he likes it any more than the soccer ball I got.  The soccer ball that is under that pile of dust somewhere.

Cyclones Baseball

Coney Island.

On Saturday we went to see the Brooklyn Cyclones take on the Staten Island Yankees.  We checked out the boardwalk before the game.

Andy, Aransas, and Savannah came bearing dinner.

Chasing kids while trying to chew.

Noah made friends with the people around us.  Even the Yankees fans.

Using the kids to lure in tossed t-shirts.

Andy’s unwavering focus.

Pre-fireworks entertainment.

Noah, not feeling the fireworks.

Done.

Lobster for dinner

Bus!

More buses!

Running!

The container holding the pickles leaked vinegar!  Yeah!  Family fun times!

All this happened in Red Hook on Friday where we met up with Julia, Benoit, and Louis for dinner.

See it??  In those boxes is one of those precious things that makes the heat of Summer a lot more tolerable.

Lobster!

Benoit traumatizing Louis.

Noah poking my lobster in the eye.

So good.

Are you like Uncle Gerry? Would you crack open those little legs and see what you could find?

Come on!?!  Whoopie pies!?!?!?  Amazing.

You don’t have to be from New England, or be Nana Holt to love Whoopie pies.

And like that it was done.  A little piece of New England, 15 minutes from our apartment.

Peace Louis.  Let’s do this again soon.

I took these photos a while back of Noah in his usual breakfast/snack spot but never posted them.  It didn’t seem like it would be that interesting to anyone else, but I photographed him there because it was something I wanted to remember.  I’m always thinking ahead.  Thinking to when he will be riding a bike, going to high school, getting a lucrative job at a hedge fund…

The photos help me see what I miss.

Catching up with Nana, Grampa, and Aunt Mindy up in NH over dinner…

…a particularly messy dinner.
