Drive

Friday afternoon we packed up the car and drove to Providence to see The Deaner’s. We also got to see some things we didn’t expect, like hours of slow moving traffic and Noah getting sick in the car (probably from watching “Cars”).

Then at a rest stop in Connecticut we saw Jojo!

Third stop, dinner.

After 6.5 hours we rolled into Providence. Psyched to see our friends.

Field trip!

I had a tough (voluntary) assignment on Wednesday, chaperone Noah’s class to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

It was a bit of a rough start. Noah, who’s always been against “costumes”, didn’t want to wear the yellow t-shirt. He also didn’t want to put on sunscreen, or carry his backpack, or walk… or even go on the trip, but we made it through, damp eyes and all.

Back to school.

I’m gonna take it slow over this Memorial Day Weekend and recover.

The Westlake’s are leaving

Saturday we made sure the stroller was well loaded up as we went to a going-away party in Prospect Park for Isaac, his parents Mike and Debbie, and Isaac’s little sister August. They are deserting us and moving back to England.

Party season.

Party site.

Charlotte!

Savannah!

Lil’ August (Augie)!

Isaac and Augie’s dad dressed perfectly for a theme I wasn’t aware of.

This really does sum up Brooklyn style at the moment though. Dudes in short-shorts cooking lamb chops in the park.

Rita, Caique’s mom, got into the party theme.

Corn balls.

Caique joined in.

Sack race!

Mr. Andy and Derby, line judges.

Savannah swiped her dads sunglasses.

Then Noah wanted his sunglasses.

We’ll miss them Westlake’s.

What our walk home looks like

Window art at Noah’s school, not done by Noah.

It’s been raining a lot. Noah is eager for time at the playground, and I’m eager for time photographing him outside. Neither of us are getting what we want, but the other day the rain held up so we could take our time walking home.

The grass is thriving after all this rain, but some things are still struggling.

Looking for trains, coming up empty.
