Bearded dude time of year

Fancy, Holidays, Stress 2 Comments »

Saturday morning, big day. Going to see the big guy. Hoping it goes a little smoother than last year.

Uhhh….  yeah.  This was the line for Santa.  I’m not much for lines, but I hung in there for the family.  Barely.

Insert something about “numb toes” and “staring at windows”.

Kate warmed Noah up to Santa while I waited in line.

Not really psyched at first…

…but they got to talking about Thomas the train and Noah came around to him.

Why still so serious?

Extravaganza!!!

Noah’s day care put on a Holiday Extravaganza on Friday.  I tried to walk the line between photographer trying to capture the event, and proud dad encouraging my 2 year old to do his best.  I wasn’t alone.

Ms. Carol, the boss.

The 1 year old’s.

Little drummer boys.  These are the 2 year olds.

Noah didn’t want to wear the hat (“it’s too big”).  Not even during the weeks of practice his teacher said.

The Sugarplum Fairies.

Lil’ Dude forgot to get the bells under his chair.

Spotted.

Taking a bow.

An interlude.

Ryder!

The oldest kids did a medley.  This was part of the Kwanzaa dance.

This was a Hanukkah “rap” I think.

The kids and teachers did a really great job.  It had to be pretty overwhelming for the kids to have an audience like that.

After the show Nana and Opa had us over for dinner.

Rainy day hair cut

Lil’ dude needed a hair cut before all the Christmas photos start, and what better day than a rainy, windy, slow day.

The firetruck seat and Thomas on the TV had him pretty content to just chill and let the lady do her work.

Tree browsing

Last Saturday we decided to get a Christmas tree.  Even though we won’t be here for Christmas Day, the apartment beautification committee agreed that it could brighten the mood of around here.  First stop was Grand Army Plaza, and right away I saw a perfectly good tree.

But it was “too big”.

Then I thought Kate was getting creative.  You know, thinking outside the box with some kind of spinach tree, but she had just roped me into some regular type shopping.

Crafty neighbors.

This one is already decorated!  Bonus!

We could make our own tree for $0.

No decisions made.

Thanksgiving morning.  Watching the parade, waiting for Nana and Grampa Holt to arrive.

Putting puzzles together with Auntie Mindy.

Go Pats!

Michigan cousins, Emily, Ceon (getting the high-five), and Cami.

Lil’ TV blocker.

Nana T. and Opa (Urban) did an amazing job hosting everyone as always.
