I got Noah some new boots. I saw them and couldn’t resist, my wallet opening itself and spewing the money necessary. I put up little fight.

Test drive.

Water-resistant is not the same as water-proof.

Hair cut.

While Noah was in the chair, the weather turned.

Back home, dried off, psyched to open the mail.

Auntie Mindy, generous as always. Thank you!

Saturday morning, in the arms of Nana Holt, seen though a camera lens with a lot of toddler fingerprints on it.

Nana and Grampa brought a present from Nina and Jasper.

Some great new clothes.

Nana and Grampa brought a present too.

Outside with Grampa.

Singing Happy Birthday to Nana T.

Chelsea skatepark.

The carousel at Chelsea Piers.

All of the animals on the carousel are native to New York State. Noah chose the falcon.

Kate chose the skunk.

Noah’s second choice was the fox.

The Richard Serra show at Gagosian.

The elevator up to The High Line.

After The High Line we had dinner with the Savas’.

Always great to have Nana and Grampa in town.

Emmett and Lisa offered their house up for Noah’s Birthday/Labor Day Party with The Urban’s, and you know we took them up on it. Here was my view from the grill…

Declan was having a good time.

Party!

Cake! (Made by Kate)

Nicole with the boys.

Presents!

Rescuing animals, so hot right now!

Declan relaxed in knowing that the following weekend would be his christening and he would show up “mr. seersucker shorts”.

Thanks to Emmett and Lisa for letting us make a mess of their house, and thanks to everyone for the great presents.

Every Labor Day, Brooklyn hosts The West Indian Day Parade (reluctantly for some), and the Saturday before Labor Day they hold the Children’s West Indian Day Parade. Noah missed a lot of it.

It’s all good though, ’cause I had my friend record it on his iPad.

Grown men DJ’ing.

Parents, parenting.

The parade ends behind The Brooklyn Museum where a big stage is set up for groups to perform.

Savannah was into it.
