For Noah’s 6th birthday we invited some of his friends to the Brooklyn Music Factory.
The kids started by jamming for while to warm up, then they started writing a song.
Oliver. Derby.
Chester.
Nooria (in the back with her dad and sister). Keado.
Jonathan.
Nooria’s sister Meesha.
The lyrics they came up with.
Derby feeling it.
Putting music to the lyrics.
Savannah and Keado’s dad.
Switch it up.
Jamming so hard it shook a tooth out of Paxton’s face.
Cake.
Dad jams.
Savannah wanted her vocals to be louder.
A mellow jam as we all said goodbye.
When we walked outside, Noah gave Savannah a ring that he found a few days before… These kids.
Thanks to everyone for coming!

At the end of July, Honey, our downstairs neighbor, and sometime babysitter, was offered a job at the Boston Children’s Hospital. It’s a great opportunity for her, but meant she would be moving… We tried to milk our time together with dinner, and constant door knockings.
She had one last gift for Noah before she left, and was a good one…
It was all of the animals she would bring up to play with Noah’s animal collection. Amazing.
On Honey’s moving day, Noah’s face lost something too.
Guy (Honey’s brother) came from Texas to help. That’s love.
We’ll miss having you a floor away Honey!

Giant Leo in town from LA (with his parents Amanda and Brian)!!
Mae!
A couple weekends ago we went to see Kara Walker’s sculptures in the soon to be destroyed Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg with the LA kids and the Hsiao’s (Jerry, Amanda, Mae, and Leni). Here’s a nice article from the New Yorker if you want a little backstory.
Right away Noah wanted to see the “backside”.
After the show, and before lunch I wanted to check out a camping store. Mae and Noah didn’t.
Leni was cool with it though!

We had Tim, Ladonna, Chris, and Miles over on the 4th of July to chill and watch some soccer. Then out of nowhere the plan was to walk to the end of Atlantic Ave and see if we could get close to the fireworks. We joined a smallish crowd.
Not bad!
Multitasking.
It was Noah’s first time not hating the fireworks.
