Friday was our last full day down on The Outer Banks, and Noah was up bright and early ready for a sleepy walk on the beach.

Rain.

Anne came over in the morning and brought some Apple Uglies. They were amazing.

The beach was great, and hanging out in the house with everyone was fun, but one of the best things I got to do over the vacation was watch the final week of The Tour de France. Noah and his Uncle Tim would watch a little too.

After a bottle and a nap, back to the beach.

For our last night in Avon, we all went out to dinner at Mack Daddy’s, a great resaurant with some amazing local fish.

The sunset (and drinks) helped us forget that we had to wait for a table.

Diane and Anne.

Noah’s Opa and Nana.

Thanks Anne for taking us surfing, showing us around, bringing us Apple Uglies, being patient, meeting Andy, giving us a ride, watching Noah while I would run for something, and just general advice giving. We’ll see you next year for your wedding.

I was on Noah duty Thursday. Kate had to help her mom and Diane get ready for an engagement party that they wanted to throw for Andy and Anne. For some reason I only came away from the day with mostly photos of Noah eating…
…but we will start with a photo of him reading with his mom before she was wisked away.

“High Five” to Uncle Tim on our way to a nap.

Post nap bananas and bedhead.

After bananas, Noah and I went down to the beach for a few hours. I traded my camera for a beach chair, so I don’t have any photos. When we came back Kate was bringing the party together with her wildflower bouquet.

Diane watching Noah for me as he ate some ravioli.

Andy helping Noah’s Opa redecorate for the party, as Tim and Mike Kennedy look on.

The sunset reflected in the house across the street.

Kate socializing.

Noah’s Opa, and Anne’s Godfather, addressing the gathering.

We got back from Avon, NC and vacation yesterday, but I’m behind in posting photos so bear with me as we continue to relive our Vacation.
On Wednesday morning Noah’s Nana Urban was nice enough to babysit while Kate and I rode our bikes to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

The view was pretty great, even though it was a cloudy day.

We stopped for frozen custard after our climb up the lighthouse and as we sat down it started to downpour.

While it rained we did a little shopping.

Back at the house.

Showing Noah the hot tub.

Anne Kennedy, waiting for everyone… again…Â We were all such tourists.

Vacation must be going well, I am having a hard time remembering what day it is.
We got a different bike, with a different seat for Noah. We also had some books wrapped in plastic bags to see if we could prop him up better.

Make friends with the bike helmet.

After our ride we went down to the beach.

I went to put in my contact lenses on the first day here and one of them was the size of a quarter. I’ve never seen that before, and maybe it was from the flight back from LA, but I didn’t bring a back up pair so I’m stuck wearing my glasses.

A quick nap.

A sandcastle that was left deserted (we didn’t make it, and Noah didn’t want to destroy it surprisingly).

Back to the house, and Nana who was talking to Diane.

After getting cleaned up we went to Jazz Night at a local spot, for some food, drinks, and an epic sunset.

Monday was a beach day. Time to get some sun, time to explore that ocean.

Years ago we were in Avon for Mark and Sara’s Wedding. The house they got married in is about 6 houses down the road.
